ShineTime Sunday School

Description of Ministry
Do you love being a part of the action? Children's Ministry is the place to be! We exist to share the love of Jesus and develop discipleship among children ages 3 to 5th grade through a variety of media in worship, Scripture and hands on activities.

Purpose of Ministry
Matthew 28:19-20 says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Can you think of a better purpose than the GREAT COMMISSION? Come on! Prayerfully consider joining the Children's Ministry Family.

Skills
• Love the LORD and love sharing the love of Christ with God's littlest people. We'll teach you everything else you need to know!

Specific Descriptions
Large Group Leader - serve on a TEAM that presents the Bible story each week through drama and other creative means. Really, you CAN do it!
• Serve with the love of Jesus
• Cooperate with other team members
• Meet with team every 4-6 weeks to plan and prepare ahead for Large-Group Bible Presentations
• Gather props, costumes, supplies, or volunteers for presentations
• Be present most Sundays from 9:15 to 10:15am in Large-Group area for set-up, presentation and clean-up

Shepherd - No Preparation Needed!
• Serve children and families with the love of Jesus
• Serve regularly as scheduled each month, alone or job-sharing with others
• Receive prepared lesson by email each week
• Be present on scheduled Sunday in assigned area at 9:15am to greet children
• Build relationships with and among children in your group
• Facilitate prepared 10-15 minute warm-up activity
• Shepherd your children to the Large-Group Presentation
• Listen and participate with your group
• Return with children to small-group area
• Facilitate prepared 20-25 minute application activity until 10:30am

Craft Coordinator Team
• Serve with the love of Jesus
• Cooperate with other coordinators
• Be aware of ShineTime weekly themes
• Use curriculum-suggested project ideas
• Obtain project materials
• Plan and prepare project materials ahead of due date
• Plan and prepare at your convenience
• Pre-package materials for each group
• Deliver prepared project materials prior to due date

Snack Coordinator Team
• Serve with the love of Jesus
• Cooperate with other coordinators
• Pre-package weekly snacks for each group
• Deliver counted and pre-packaged snacks prior to due date

Music Leader
• Work with the Large Group team in selecting songs that go along with the lesson
• Use either live music or pre-recorded songs to lead worship
• Be present on scheduled Sunday in assigned area from 9:15 until 10:15am

Involvement Time
Large Group; Shepherds; Music Leaders
Shinetime is Sunday mornings from 9:30 until 10:30am. Can't serve every Sunday? Job sharing is available. (Shepherds are asked to arrive by 9:15am to welcome and greet their kids.)

Craft Coordinators; Snack Coordinators
You make your own schedule. Our workspace is your work space. Come by the church office any time during business ours to get done what you nee to get done. Weekly or monthly. Whatever suits you best.
